Originally released as a bonus track on the Japanese release of "The Space Between." There’s a Simpsons episode where Lisa is at a jazz club and there’s this curmudgeon talking shit about the performer on stage and Lisa says to him, “you have to listen to the notes she’s not playing.” I apply this principle whenever I’m encountered with an irrational argument. (It helps me not take things personally.) This song was written after such an argument. It was nice to be able to channel the feeling afterward and do something productive with it.

Our friendship with the Bilinda Butchers began when Michael asked me to sing on their song, “hai bby.” I wanted to work with them again because it’s just awesome to be friends with someone whose work you admire. We love how this remix turned out. In some ways I like it even better than our version, but they’re really two distinct songs cut from the same cloth.
